Port of Ust-Luga

Port of Ust-Luga is located practically at the border of the Russian Federation and the European Union. Due to the very deep port water area (16 meters) and a short acess duct (3.7 km) the port of Ust-Luga (that is right now under construction) will be the only Russian port in the Baltic, capable to accept dry-cargo vessels of 75 thousand tons deadweight and tankers of 120 thousand tons deadweight. The Ust-Luga will be a final point of the Baltic pipeline system-2 (BPS-2). Launch of Refueling network connected with BPS-2, is planned for 2012.
The cargoes turnover of port in Ust-Luga for January-November, 2009 grew by 47.7 % as of the same period last year to 9.3 million tons.
