The Bolshoy (Big) port of St.-Petersburg is the largest port in the Northwest of Russia. The Bolshoy port incorporates all facilities of St.-Petersburg. -The Seaport of St.-Petersburg OJSC -The Timber Port -The Fishing Port - The Northwest Shipping Company OJSC cargo and passenger port -Berthing walls of the Baltic factory, the Northern shipyard, the Kronstadt sea factory, etc., the Naval base -New passenger terminals at Angliyskaya Naberezhnaya (English embankment) and Naberezhnaya Leytenanta Schmidta (Lieutenant Schmidt embankment). Freight turnover of the port of St.-Petersburg increased by 1% to 59.9 million tons for 2008 comparing to 2007, according to the Administration of seaport. Vessel turnover (total of calls and departures from the port) in 2008 was 29 thousand 647 of vessels. With the construction of the new ports in Lomonosov, Bronka, former Litke base on the Kotlin island and Gorskaya by 2010, capacities of the Bolshoy Seaport of St.-Petersburg in a water area of the Neva bay and delta of the Neva river are estimated at up to 60 million tons a year. About 30 bunkering companies constantly operate in the port of St.-Petersburg, 8 of them possess their own fleet. Both fuel oil and diesel fuel are being selling in the port.
