The regular confirmation of a technical condition of the vessel was carried out during the week with the participation of engineering staff of the factory and under control of the experts of the Inspection of Maritime Register of Shipping. The length of the vessel constructed in 1992 by the Volgograd shipyard, is equal to 113,20 m., width - 16,93 m., height of a board - 18,57 m. The tanker has third ice class, deadweight of 7550 tons, is capable for transporting simultaneously heavy and light oil products. The tanker is equipped with modern control systems of navigation, specialized equipment, the ship systems, allowing providing cargo operations. The special equipment i.e. the on-board oil-directing device and powerful separators, allow a vessel to collect oil and oily waters from water surface, and also to make their own filtration. The tanker officially provides the commissioning of the plan of removal of emergency oil slicks in Primorsk, and is capable of clearing of the water area from bilge waters and dust. The vessel has a double bottom, 4 cargo compartments with the total capacity of about 3000 tons. Power installation of the ship with a capacity of 3000 hp allows Smolniy tanker to accelerate up to a speed of 10 knots per hour. Sea endurance is 25 days with the range of navigation of a vessel of 3600 miles. Cost of a vessel of such a class in the international market exceeds $10 million.
